I strongly encourage you to spend some time on youtube checking out Chris Christie. We need more politicians not afraid to say exactly what they think...plus he is just so freaking hysterical. Make fun of New Jersey all you want, but I just have to love any state that manages to elect a guy like Chris Christie. Times are tough right now, and we need elected leaders who can be tough too.
The ugly, spoiled entitlement mentality displayed by the teacher in this video is a disgrace to the entire teaching profession. With so many people unemployed or underemployed, it takes a lot of nerve to complain about a one year pay freeze when you are making over $80,000 and getting full benefits for a job that gives you a three month vacation.
My parents are both retired school teachers who worked for over 30 years in Orange County. I have a lot of respect for the education profession and I know that I would not be where I am today without some of the wonderful teachers that I was lucky enough to have. I am proud to be a product of public education, from kindergarten all the way through my law degree. The budget problems that are devastating our public schools all over the country are often caused, or at least exacerbated, by these unions that make it almost impossible to fire incompetent teachers or to reward excellent ones.
