Karen Castor Dentel's inadequate response to ethics complaint filed against her

Karen Castor Dentel: Excuses, excuses, excuses.
Yesterday, I wrote a post detailing complaints filed against state representative candidate Karen Castor Dentel with the Florida Elections Commission and the Florida Commission on Ethics.

WFTV 9 covered the story last night, and Dentel's only responses to the very serious complaints filed against her were to insist she had done nothing wrong, and to whine that it was a "politically motivated" attack.

Well, not to state the obvious, but of course the complaints were politically motivated.

Karen Castor Dentel is a political candidate, and there are a lot of Floridians who would prefer that our elected officials not blatantly violate the law. In fact, I would say that there are a number of people who would be motivated to file a complaint against any political candidate about whom they had evidence of violations of the law.

Dentel can whine all she likes about this being a "political" attack, but when a political candidate takes action that appears to violate the law, this is the result.

Note that Dentel didn't bother to try and deny that she sent the emails that were the subject of the complaint. Her problem now is that those emails clearly show in black-and-white communications of which the only reasonable interpretation is that she was conducting campaign activities, during school hours.

So, yes, Ms. Dentel. These were politically motivated complaints. You can add me to the list of people who are motivated to help keep our politicians honest...and I find you sadly lacking.
